“Within just a day of requesting that Mark fix two downspouts on the roof of the sacristy, he sent technicians. The downspouts in question had been partially missing for years. One of the spouts diverts water away from one of the roof seams. Without this spout, rainwater just gushed right onto the unprotected seam from the drainage trough above, which is too small for such a large building. The seam developed a leak, causing the interior ceiling in one corner of the sacristy to absorb rainwater. Saturated with rainwater, the ceiling finally fell, right to the old wooden roof supports, visible through the big hole. What did not fall was now ‘hanging by a thread.’ Two weeks ago roofers repaired the seam. The downspout now protects the seam and the interior ceiling from further damage. Another missing downspout was also replaced at the Fatima shrine entrace. We cannot thank you enough, Mark!”
